Memory prices

Why has memory prices almost doubled in the last few months? Is the reason that they are trying to recoop the money from the R&D for DDR4?

Desktop memory prices are on the rise again - The Tech Report

Quote:
Why are prices going up? "A combination of supply-side factors, such as a cutback in production of PC DRAM and more capacity allocated for mobile DRAM and server-use memory," according to DigiTimes.
