reccomendations for thermal pad
I need thermal pads for laptops. The problem is I don't know which ones to buy as the gaps between parts have a significant difference. I am supposed to buy all different thickness pads or are they pads were the die can "punch through" the pad.
The one I got from ebay just bulges the heatsink and does not elongate from pressure. What do you guys recommend?

This one is for a compatible Dell model :
Copper-Shim | New Copper Shim Spacer Pad for Thermal Paste Get the models of your notebooks and match them to the pads, with any luck there'll be some overlap (Which will hold down your necessary inventory) but you really have to assume the pads are manufacturer specific until you know otherwise.

I recommend you use paste-type thermal compound instead of pads.
