Asus board question

Does Asus have an 1155 board with three PCIe 3.0 X 16 slots? Of the boards I have looked at it seems the best out there is a third slot that is compromised at 8X, but then I have not looked at all of the hundreds of boards out there. Does such a board exist with any CPU or chip set combination? I have not made up my mind yet but am considering getting a third card yet I did not want it to be bottle necked by the number of lanes available from the board.

I found some info, even a board. You don't ask for much, do you?

GIGABYTE G1.Sniper 3 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard - Newegg.com

LGA 1155 Motherboards with multiple PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots

As for Asus, I didn't get that far.

3 slots all running at x16 is not possible on socket 1155, even with NF200 or PLX. Even that Gigabyte (PLX) runs the 3rd and 4th slots at x8.

This is the only current Asus option for 3 or more slots all at x16:

ASUS Rampage IV Extreme LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard - Newegg.com

Of course, you will have to replace your CPU and probably your ram.

I highly doubt that running a PCI-E 3.0 card at x8 will bottleneck anything - that's the exact same bandwidth as PCI-E 2.0 x16.

Thanks! I think rather than getting a 2011 processor and board I will wait for the Haswell LGA 1150's to become available this year. I decided to buy a couple Titans and sell my 6990's. If my games don't run fast enough (especially Crysis 3 when I get it working) I would buy a third Titan. 690's are only capable of dual SLI, and three Titans would be faster plus the Titans have a numbers of things that the 690's do not, such as the ability to clock based on GPU temperature and the abilty to run a 60Hz monitor at more than 60Hz..and the risk associated with doing that. Three Titans are not overkill for running Crysis at 60 FPS on three monitors. A Newegg video on YouTube shows the benchmark results of 1, 2, 3 and 4 Titans in SLI. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vCrblKzKaM

I could easily be arm-twisted for my mobo and CPU (left undisturbed) and all 8 slots full of of working Ram. Too much overkill for what I do. But at the time I just had to try it. Then you would have your slots.

I didn't even know my own mobo's capabilities until glc posted.
