Is this motherboard 64 bit? I see that the CPU is.

OK, I see that it is os 64 bit. Needed to dig around more:D

64 bit has to do with the software. The most relevant thing about 32 vs 64 bit and hardware is that if you want to be able to utilize more than about 3.5 gigs of RAM you need a 64 bit OS.

David, in order to use 64 bit software (OS) the CPU has to be 64 bit too.

Motherboard shouldn't have anything to do with it - it's the CPU.

Most AMD socket 754 and newer is 64 bit. With Intel, some Pentium 4's are 64 bit and almost everything newer is.

Ok, I didn't know there were any 32 bit CPU's still around. I remember when the first 64 bit processors came out which was years ago.

Funny, this is my first 64 bit computer... found it in a trash can.:D

OK, I have an os installed, I want to put a little more RAM in this computer, as it only has 1GB. There are no stores for hundred of miles that sell computer parts.
Anyhow, someone in town is selling some used RAM. I know that my mb takes 240 pin DDR2 800. I am looking for a possible quick fix.

Hmm, just wondering why the mb specs says it will take more. Can you explain where the bottleneck might be? Just want to be sure before I decide what to do with this computer and putting in more ram?

The motherboard can see up to 16 gigs of memory but the DDR2 modules only go up to 2 gig max at the time.

Here they have 4 gig modules.

DDR2 DIMM Memory, DDR2 Memory, 240 Pin Memory, DDR RAM, 240-Pin DIMM, Cheap DIMM, 512 240 DIMM

Cool, Can someone suggest which ram that will suit me best? I have 2 ram slots.
I'm thinking 4 gig's, nothing special, cheap, etc...
Preferably not Newegg, shipping is to high.

I'd even take used RAM, if someone wanted to sell/mail me some.

Let me look around and I'll send you (for free). I have a feeling the cotton pickin' shipping to Alaska is 5 times the worth of the RAM, lol. If you used the Crucial Advisor, that is what I would go by.

let me check... I have some that I'll send you if you can hold out a few days... I have plenty of ddr2 ram sitting around... I know i have some Crucial Ballistic tracers and G-Skill and a few others... they all good and a few kits still NIB...
