HP2000cxi EMPTY INK message, but it isn't

2 year old hp2000cxi shows Empty Black Ink message. This unit has separate ink cartridges and printheads for each color. Replaced black ink cartridge 2 times. It prints one page then Empty Black Ink message again. Replaced Black Printhead, still Empty Black Ink message.Cannot establish 2 way communication message shows it's face a couple times. It did spit out Ink Cartridge Information page showing no black ink But is printing the text in good looking Black text so some ink has to be getting through. Expiration dates on new printhead and new black ink cartridge are good. Have reinstalled software and tried updated driver. Also tried installing on another computer with same results.

And the answer is...

Turned out to be a detached spring under the ink cartridge. Removing the cartridge in question reveals a white button that doesn't spring up like the rest. Had to remove cover to get room to remove ink ports assembly(hose stays attached).Lift yellow locks on each end of gear driven shaft and lift it out to expose springs. Luckily mine rolled out. It wasn't the spring that broke but the cheap plastic attachement point. Used a hot piece of wire to bore a hole just under broken point to hook spring through. Still showing low ink but hope that goes away when cartridge is replaced next.
