Post Fan Question and Comment on cd

Hello All,
I have just received my new PC Mechanic cd,and from just a quick look-see,it looks to be WELL worth the 20 bucks. Thanks for the SUPER FAST delivery. Now on too my question. When i purchased all the parts for my new build(which is running Great),i bought a Thermaltake 80X80X25 fan,as an extra case fan.Problem is that this thing is VERY loud.Wife cant even sleep with my puter running, and i hate to shut it down all the time.So I am up for any suggestions on a way to quiet this thing down. This fan says noise level is 30dB(A).My system temp runs at 82 degrees F,and the cpu temp runs at 102-105 F.Could I just eliminate this fan? Or should I replace it with a higher quality fan?Any help on brands, types,or whatever will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You could take a hint from some of the more radical case modders out there and put it on a rheostat to turn it down to a quieter level at night.

Hi edave123,

Replace the Thermaltake with a Panaflo fan: http://2cooltek.safeshopper.com/25/204.htm?457
Panaflo's have the reputation of being some of the quietest fans available.

Or take a look at this Sunon fan: http://2cooltek.safeshopper.com/26/269.htm?457 It's almost as quiet as the Panaflo.

These fans don't move a big volume of air, but if you aren't overclocking your system they should work out fine.
