webcam
I have a Compaq computer and a Xirlink webcam. For some reason every time I install the camera, it is installing some unknown device under the USB ports. I tried enabling the unknown device and then I reboot the computer but every time it goes back to an unknown device and disabled. I took the computer and the webcam to my computer store and they tried to install my webcam and all of theirs and none of them would work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the web cam about 20 times. When I double click on the icon on the desktop for the webcam it says that no webcam is connected to the computer when it is plugged into the usb port.

I installed a CDRW drive on USB once, and had to install drivers for the cable itself
It wouldn't work otherwise, and would have Unknown Device under USB Came with a CD for the drive drivers, and Floppy for cable drivers Might help...

The only webcams that I have seen that work reliably are Logitechs, Intels, and IBMs.
