CD Burning software
I'm looking for burning software recommendations. I have a CDR but no software (lost in a move). I plan to buy a new CDR drive soon but need something in the meantime.
Since I will be getting new software when I get the new drive, I don't want to spend a lot of money. (Freeware?) The CD is an old Acer model. Thanks. Last edited by ramayes; 12-28-2001 at 10:36 AM. |

What cd burner do you have? Sony's use SONY CD EXTREME. You can always geta cracked version of Roxio or something like that, or NEO. Go Warez...no need to get freeware crap.

Hey, warez are NOT supported here, so DO NOT recommend going that way !!! @ramayes If you don't want to spend much money you can download the free trial version of nero. It is limited to 30 days I think, anyway it doesn't have much limitations. For the meantime I believe this would be the best for you, since Nero is a good burning program. Nero trial version can be downloaded from www.nero.com RJ

Sony CD Extreme is a great program, and it's also free, however, it's really hard to find a download site.
If anyone wants it, leave me a PM, or email, and I'll see about putting it up on the web, or I can email it to you. It's 7.2 meg. |

Hi ramayes,
I use Nero 5.5, but Easy CD Creator 4.05 is okay too (I heard there were issues with 5.0). Or you can try here: http://www.audiotools.co.uk/ Most burning programs here are shareware, but the trial period may be long enough for you to do whatever you need to do for now. Cricket

Nero is without a doubt the best. It has a built in audio editor which allows you too add effects and fade in, splice etc. It is compatible with burn proof standards. It also converts many video formats to vcd standard on the fly. I dont like roxio because you cant use other burning programs once its on your computer. Nero can be downloade free on Kazaa w/ crack.

Hey Cricket,
What issues with Easy CD Creator 5? Not trying to argue, but I have been using it since it came out without a hitch on four different systems. Had more problems with Nero than Adaptec/Roxio. justbarron |

OK, that's two people discussing warez and cracks which are not allowed in these forums. I'm locking the thread.

I found a couple of links.
No guarantees they work. direct download (Taiwan) http://www.sony.co.th/download/drive...iter/setup.zip It's based on Prassi (not available in the US), and works nicely. Even allows .iso burning, accurate time measure for MP3's, lots of features for a free burning prog. In my opinion, better than Adaptec/Roxio, except it has no cover printing built in. |
