Hi novyan,

No, bigger isn't necessarily better. What you want is a high quality power supply that provides ultra clean power to your motherboard. More power only means you can install and use more devices in your system...but if the power isn't clean it can lead to an unstable system.

This is one reason we suggest you don't buy generic power supplies. You really don't know the quality of the power provided. Stick to the major names in power supplies and you'll be fine. Look for Enermax, Antec, PowerMan, Sparkle Power, Astec, Hi-Power, etc...

Steer clear of Deer and Austin power supplies.

To add to the question. Those who build systems; I find many if not all the boxes come with power supplies, now when you guys/and girls order boxes to build your PC do you use the power supply that comes with it or do you replace it with a better brand?

I generally go with Cricket's idea. Stay away from the cheap generic power supplies. Enermax is my personal favorite. I've never had any problems with them. They're not that much more expensive than the generic ones either.

Cool

Iman if you go with the quality cases, then you get quality power supplies. Antec, Enlight, Inwin just to name a few. And to answer your question. Yes I use the power supplies that came with the cases. A Enlight and a Antec.
