Turning a dual boot into triple while upgrading HD, help!
Hi, When I received my computer it had Win 98. A few years later I
added a second HD and installed Win2k onto that. At the same time I upgraded the original OS to WinMe. So now i have Win 98 on C: Win 2k on D: and two extra partitions on the second HD, E: and F:, just for storage space. Now I want to have a bigger HD for C: and have bought a 60 gig HD and i want to have two partitions on this, one either for the original copy of ME (another question, how do i clone this If I want to keep my old copy, shove it over to E: or F: with Norton Ghost and bring it back again to C:?), or want to reinstall ME completely on the first partition of C: and install XP on the second partition. If i simply take out the original HD with C on and set the Win2k HD to Primary from Slave, will that mean my D: will become C: and the dual boot record for WinMe will disappear? I'll effectively be reverting back to Win2k as if I've had it from day one? Can I then install the new HD, partition it in two and do clean installs of WinMe on one, and XP on the other, so that I end up with W2k on c:, Win Me on d: and XP on e: and there will be no problem with the triple boot options? Many Thanks Terry |
