sound card - no sound

Thank you very much to those who helped me got this far. I successfully upgraded to 486 dx2/66 from dx/33 to-day on my 32 meg ram and 256 cache 486 Ammerica Megatrends AMI BIOS computer. Right now I am fighting my sound card no sound problem.

I had a Zoltrix 16 bit sound card audio plus 3200 in my 486 that worked before I installed window 95 from Windows 3.1. (I must have removed the zoltrix folder by accident during the process) a year ago.

To-day, I ensured the sound card is installed solidly in the ISA card slot and Windows 95 add hardware detected it as Create Sound Blaster 16 bit card with error code 16 - incorrect resource settings on the hardware tab. I had downloaded the audio plus zip files ap3200-1.zip and ap3200-2.zip some years ago from Zoltrix u.s. mirror site on 2 diskettes before. Tried to unzip them and got disk read error on ap3200-2.zip file. Tried in Window explorer and dos prompt, same thing. Wondering if I can use norton utilities to fix it (I don't have norton utilities software anyway).

I went to zoltrix u.s. mirror site to try to download ap3200-1.zip and ap3200-2.zip files again and got http 404 error !

Wondering if someone know of any non-zoltrix websites that might have these zoltrix sound card drivers to download. I sent tech support in zoltrix an email but not sure if they would even reply my request since these are very old sound card drivers.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My real troubles are not having the original audio 3200 installation diskettes for Windows 3.1 and I remembered one of the diskettes was defective before too and that was why I resorted to download from the website.

sound card - no sound

Thanks Cricket for your quick response. I went through my windows 3.1 backup diskettes before I installed windows95 back in Nove 2000 and found a good copy of ap3200-2.zip file that doesn't come back with read error ! However, when I prepare my windows95 platform for the installation with multi-media componenets, I discovered I don't have access to drive D which is my CDrom ! I managed to drop drive D for some reasons either when I was installing a network card or the new 486 dx2/66 chip install (not very likely).

I decided to open a new thread since this is no longer a sound card problem so if you don't mind or know the answers to my problems, I'd appreciate your help again.

I had this problem before with a Sony compatible Wearnes Technology CDrom 4X and the Wearnes Technology CDrom driver downloaded didn't work and took it to the vendor who installed a new 48 X CDrom for me last time and charged me $200.00 !
