Mouse freezing Why?????????????

My mouse is freezing for absolutely no reason. About a month ago I upgraded my mobo and cpu. I know I bought a crap mobo but thats what I could aford. No problems since then. 3 days ago I bought a new video card. It running well. I havn't had a problem for 3 days. I sat down an hour ago and now after ten minutes running any game and I've tried 3 different games (thats all I've been doing) the mouse just freezes. When it does, I still have complete control over the computer. the key board and everything else. However when I go to restart, it locks up at the shutting down windows screen. What is my problem? Is it the mother board? is it pci conflicts? The mouse is 6 months old. Its a micro innovations optical mouse. I down loaded the new drivers. I've swithed the port its on in my usb hub. My mouse also locks when I try to hotsync my palm pilot. but I think thats because my hubs not powered. but while I'm playing games, my hotsync, printer and webcam aren't even operating. So I'm ticket! Any ideas Please help!!!

Is the mouse showing up on the post screen? My mouse went bad shortly after I bought my Dell, if it doesn't show up its probably the mouse itself. Just a thought, don't know if it helps any.

Hi,
If you tried cleaning it? Check with computer dealers for a mouse cleaner. If you can't find one, place some methylated spirit on a piece of cloth; Open the back of the mouse, you will find some rollers and a wheel(s). Check the rollers and wheel(s) and you will find some deposits. In normal situations, they do not exist. The fact that they are there means your mouse needs cleaning.
Rub the rollers and wheel(s) repeatedly until the deposits are removed.
Clean the ball inside your mouse with a cloth with some spirit.
Close up the mouse, connect it and see what happens.
I am sure it will work.

Cheerio
