Just lately I've been getting the Red Circle with the + that indicates "No Modem" every other time I click on connect to go one line. It happens every other time, not every time. I have to reinstall my modem and restart the computer, and it works until the next time. What causes this problem.

It's sharing resources with another device.
Remove the modem and all com ports in device manager. Shutdown, restart. Go into BIOS setup, and DISable com 2 (serial port 2 or B). REstart, reinstall. ------------------ Who needs a life?, I have internet! Cheers, Jim Jim & Sue's Free Files | Jims Modems |
