Question

I have an HP 3200c scanner. My problem is not being able to send my scans to my Email. "Mail" is shown as a destination, along with "image file", "printer", "Paint", etc. I use Outlook Express for my mail program. I can find no way to add OE as a destination and have no idea where (if anywhere) the scans are going when I choose "Mail".

Any solutions or suggestions are welcome....
TIA

Unhappy

I'm pretty sure I found it myself. The only mail programs this scanner supports is Eudora (pro & lite) and possible Outlook if I use M$Word for the editor, as it supports Word. Unless someone knows otherwise..MSWord as the editor in OL Express???, then I'll let the matter rest.

Scan the pic, and just save it.
Open your fave graphics prog (I recommend IrFanView from my Graphics page), and resize it the way you want it, then save it as a .gif or .jpg, whichever is smaller.
Open OE, and click on the paper clip to attach the pic to your outgoing mail message.
It's a longer process, but your scanner software only saves pics in .tif format, which is HUGE!!!, and far to big to include in an email.

Thanks Jim.. yup, I'm doing a little shorter version of that as one "destination" choice is an image file. It defaults to "My Documents" so I made a sub-folder there (Scans) to save to. I have the choice of several formats to save in, one being Jpeg, which I'm using. I then do the attachment thing in OE.

Actually, this isn't me, but one I was called to help on.
