no sound
hi:
win 98se: pentium 733 pc no sound from the speakers, systems devices reports that the driver is present and no conflicts with the sound control panel multimedia: audio: cannot change setting for playback device, no highlighted areas to click on: cannot adjust advanced features. this seems to be where the problem since there is no playback device listed in multimedia, so how do I get it to recognise the playback device. removed the device from system, restarted, detected hardware, and used the drivers from win98 cd to reinstall them, but not luck. reinstalled win98 to see if it would correct a problem with the multimedia in control panel, but no luck. aopen motherboard with onboard sound. avi technology driver is the driver used for this device thanks |

Hi Glenrose
with some onboard sound m/b you have to use powered speakers and not just the plug in type. |

glenrose,
Check your volume control in your entertainment folder and make sure nothing is muted. |
