Question Question about VIA 4in1 Driver's for XP...

Im installing XP PRO and i went to the VIA site and got there XP 4in1 Driver for my board I have a ABIT KT7A-RAID board. VIA says with XP you dont need 4in1 driver's, then below that statment they offer 4in1 driver's for XP So i look in the forums there and people say not to install them with XP, Anyone here have any thoughts?

Thank's for your time again!!

The Via 4in1 drivers and their installation are decided by two factors,Via chipset and Operating system.
If you had an older Via chipset(socket 7,for example, you might want to load the 4in1,if you're using Win95a,if you're using Win95b,98,98se,ME,you may only need the agp driver and miniport driver, etc.
As you're using XP and a newer chipset, the 4in1 is not needed, and in fact will be rejected by XP.
So,Via offers the 4in1 for XP,but it is in reference to older systems, hence the confusion.
It use to be that in order to find the drivers for your motherboard, you would have to search Via for your specfic chipset, the 4in1 covers all their chipsets.
To sum up,no,you don't need them!

The files in XP will all be the latest ones. When there is an update, you will most likely be able to get them through the Windows Update feature and get only what you need.
