video card upgrade?

Currently I have a Trident Blade 3D/MVP4 on a compaq presario. I am trying to play Medal of Honor. I realize I am stradling the line of minimum specs but....When I try to play I get a message saying that my card does not support multiplexing. First can I use this card? Second, how do I upgrade if need be? Is the card part of the MB, or a seperate pci card?

What is the model number of your Compaq? I would assume that the Trident card is actually just a chip on the motherboard, but you can disable onboard video if you want to use a seperate video card. Does the computer have an AGP slot, or only PCI slots? It will be easier to find a good AGP card than a PCI card. PCI video cards can be had, but they are starting to disappear from the retail market. A good brand (ATI / NVidia) card with 32 mb memory should work to improve your game play.

Model #7360 amd k-6 500mhz, 184mb ram. Looks like I have 1 ISA slot 2 combo ISA/PCI slots and 2 more PCI slots with modem on one (modem not being used). I figured it was probably on board video. Recommendations?
After reading and learning from these forums, I think I will be building my own cpu! Too bad it probably won't be for a while.

Here's a good ATI card from MWave.

YOu can look for prices if you want. MWave is a very good online retailer. It's a 32MB video card capable of DVD playback. $64 + shipping

Yes but after looking at that card, don't I need the AGP slot. I don't think I have that. Is there something I'm missing?

Yes, the fact that that card is a PCI card, not an AGP card. It will work fine for you.

Sorry missed that. I've narrowed it down to either the ATI Radeon 32MB or the Geoforce2-MX200. I not an extreme gamer (obviously see system above, LOL) My wife plays sim games all the time (sims, tropico, all the tycoons, etc) The medal of honor game caught my eye, so I downloaded the demo and was unable to play it and that brought me here.
1. Any thoughts between the 2 cards?
2. Will I see performace gains across the board in game playing, or just 3D games?
3. What is the correct way to install pci card with onboard graphics? I've read elsewhere on this forum that the pci card will override onboard and automatically disable itself once installed. Or do I have to manually disable it? I've already checked out the BIOS (what a joke).
Thanks again
