From whatI've read in the manual , I think the fastest cpu that the board (Revision1) will accept is a 500 mhz. That would explain why your machine will not post.

OK I e-mail krex asking if they would exchange the 533 for a 500 but they havent gotten back with me yet. I was just wondering if the board will support a 500? They dont have it as a cpu the board supports on there web site but in the manual they have all the setting for it. There web site only says it supports up to a 400mhz k6-2 any ideas?

The info on their web page is not to clear but what i gathered from it is if you have the revision 1 mobo it will support up to 500.
I think you would be wise to contact Soyo and get the proper info.

Man this is messed up. I e-mail soyo and krex about it and here is what i have gotten from soyo.

"Dear Customer,

this motherboard does not support 533, but it does support the 550 CPU. as
for the beeping please check your memory. the memory error beep is: one long
beep fallowed by an other one and it goes on like that.

With Regards
Saeed,"

And here is what i have gotten from krex

"Dear Sir;

soyo 5ema motherboard can support amd cpu up to 500mhz,if 533mhz, that need
a little bit overclock.

The setting for k6-2/533 is:

SW1: off,off,on,on,off,on.
SW2: depends on cpu's voltage.
jp10,jp8,jp9: 1-2,1-2,2-3.

Let me know if it works.

Thanks for shopping at krex Computers.

Xin Tech at krex"

I am going to try the setting krex gave me now and see if it works

Try here http://www.plycon.com/ , try the golden orb, very good fans, under 20 bux US, plus cooling is comparable to the Alpha fans.

Hey D3,
Even if the machine won't post, the cpu fan should spin up. Also, is your power supply fan spinning up when you power on?

If the cpu fan won't spin during post attempt it means that the cpu is improperly overclocked or the cpu will not work with that particular motherboard. If i attempt to overclock my AMD K-6 450 the power fan will spin but my CPU fan will not.

You tried plugging the heatsink power lead to a outlet on the board. If it still doesn't work than the power lead could be your problem.

Did you try clocking it down to 95mhz bus? Maybe it can't cut it at 100.
