Pissed Sound Card Problem...stumped..

ok, I have a turtle beach santa cruz sound card installed in my system. All of a sudden I want to play music, but I hear nothing. I've done the obvious things...checkd to see if everything was plugged in...made sure the volume was up.....in windows and on speakers. On on the volume controls the wave balance, shows something is being done..... But I dont get a start up sound either, so its not a specific pogram that wont work. And this all comes after I installed an A+ certification pogram..... But i scanned for viruses earlier on today, I found one and quarenteened it...could that be the problem...I dont know what I couldhave gotten it from...

Whr, have you tried deleting the drivers and the device from device manager and reinstalling? Give it a try.

When you go into your control panel>sounds, are the Mickeysoft selections greyed out or appear to be working? I have my computers hooked to my stereo. I thought something was amiss. It turned out I had the tape monitor switch on!

Hi whr2206,

I lost sound on an old PC once when the power transformer for the powered speakers died. Got another transformer and everything was fine again. Do you have another set of speakers you could try out?
