Hi Guys, I'm finally going to givein and get serious about some cooling. I've ordered a ready made setup to start with. Anybody have any exposure to the condensation problems. I just want to be ready when it arrives. I neve did get that alpha thingie assembled anyway.
70 watt Peltier element Alpha P3125 heatsink Twin 60mm fans moving a total of 54 cfm (each with 3 pin fan headers) Copper cold plate Foam insulation to protect against condensation [This message has been edited by Hopper (edited 05-31-2000).] |

Follow the directions exactly and you should be okay,Make sure ample air is being moved around the device, can you add an additional exhaust fan at the back of the case?
It would be adviseable to do so. |

Well, since it's a Addtronics, extra fans should be no problem. Running 3 now in addition to the power supply, I have mounts for two up by the HDDs.

Condensation is a VERY real danger. Especially if the peltier device is a biggie.
Anytime a temp is BELOW ambient, condensation becomes likely. That is, your CPU is cooled to 70 (f) and the ambient air temp is say 80(f). While this is a minor exageration, it explains my point. My "kmart" dorm fridge "contraption" is a large peltier device of 80/30 watts and does cause condensation but I have it mounted in a way to keep moisture away from the system board. CPU peltiers are another thing, they keep the danger rather close to home. |
