Question Weird voltage adapter thing-a-ma-jiggy????

Im putting this computer together right now and I am using an abit KR7A mobo and there is an adapter of some sort that I cant figure out where it goes. This is gonna be hard to explain but this is what it looks like-One end is a dual 4-pin connector with male and female connections(just like what comes out of you power supply and plugs into your cd-rom of hd) what I mean when I say dual 4-pin is that you could plug this into your cd-rom 4-pin connector and plug the 4-pin connector from the power supply into it and the other end looks like it could plug into a fan header but it has 2 male pins on the inside so it cant fit on a fan header.
Ive read the manual on this and I dont see this thing anywhere nor do I see anywhere on the mobo where it can plug into.
Any idea where it goes or if I even need to use it?

Hi JCB,

From your description, it sounds like a RPM adaptor for use with those high speed Delta fans on some heatsinks.

You connect the high speed fan directly to the power supply 4-pin connector and connect the RPM sensor wire to the motherboard CPU fan header.

Is it similar to this?

If it's not that, I don't know what it could be.

Hi JCB,

That's pretty cool that ABIT included that RPM adaptor with the motherboard. I guess that's why that company has such a good reputation.
