Compaq Presario 1200 (AMD K6 2 500MHz) Notebook PROBLEM!

To anyone out there, PLEASE HELPPP!
I encounter this problem since I got da laptop!
Here's da story,
One and a half years ago, I bought this Compaq Presario 1200 Laptop (Black colored laptop), Spec: AMD K6 2 500MHz Processor, 32mb Ram, 12.1' DSTN Display, 56K build in modem, 24X cd-rom, 4.6gb hdd! One day,i start to turn on da laptop,when da Win98 boot screen started to show, da whole laptop hang! So i took out da battery and adapter. After a few second, i plug in da battery and ac adapter, when i try to turn on da laptop, there's no respond at all, but da indicator still shows dat the adapter is plugged in! I have no choice but to send it to the compaq service center! (it was under warranty dat time) The technician told me dat my mainboard have problem,so they change da whole mainboard for me! After service, I still had the same problem again! I think I had send the laptop to the service for this problem for more than 12 times during the warranty period! Later after the warranty had expired, i had no choice but to dump the laptop aside and get new pc( Coz changing da motherboard is expensive like hell!!).

Half years later, when i was cleaning my room, i took out the old stupid laptop, i tried to plug all da adapter in again and turn on the laptop! Surprisingly it's works like normal again! The battery is charging and everithing works well!....

Till today, da stupid problem occurs again!! Did anyone know actually what's da problem? or I REALLY NEED TO WAIT ANOTHER HALF YEAR to TURN ON da LAPTOP AGAIN??? Pls HELP!

Pls dun tell me to send it to service center again coz the technician will juz tell me da same thing again and again!!!
