Angry Fire Western digital HD, Pooched???

Um, so yeah, it's been a while...

So I was playing an online game and my PC restarted on its own, then it wouldn't load back into XP. Since I have a dual boot I tried running Win '98. It wouldn't load either, so I tried again and it did me in win 98 but then randomly restarted again. So I tried to "System Restore" XP, but it still wouldn't load. So I had nothing important to save, so I decided to format C: and reinstall Win 98, no go! Tried again, some registry error came up this time. SO I tried again and now it just randomly restarts. I've even tried Flashing my BIOS, but it still doesn't go, so I hooked up my hard drive to a friends pc, same thing happens.

Does this sound like a fride hard drive?
by the way, its a western digital 30Gig 7200RPM

let me know,
jalbes

Does the bios detect the drive? If so, run scandisk from a floppy and see what you get. The most thorough diagnostic tool is WD's utility which you can download as glc indicated.
