I was thinking about going to AMDXP/DDR... whats a good, mid ranged price for processor, motherboard, ram...
Im in the process of checking out newegg.com, but what do you guys reccomend? |

Hi Sinister,
I always recommend the EPoX 8K3A, they're great boards. There are several cheap yet quality boards at NewEgg as well, take a look at these.

I agree with DrZ on the boards. I really like the Solteks lately, though. Great boards. Anyway, I would say your best performance / price for a processor would be an Athlon XP 1900. As far as DDR goes, go with name brand. I personally like Crucial and Corsair for memory. Also, you could try Kingston, Mushkin, or Micron.

What is the purpose of the system, if you're into 3D you MUST dump that GeForce 2 MX.
About the MSI KT3 Mobo... very nice, I just finished a build with one and it runs great! And quite reasonable as well. |

Do not forget the Shuttle boards, excellant quality and relativly inexpensive.
