Angry Fire External HardDrive Installation

I'm trying TO Install an External Maxtor Hard Drive to my Laptop Via Adaptec AFW-1430.

The Problem is the PNP Doesn't seem to Recognize the External HardDrive. and it doesn't show in the WinME "MY Computer."

I already switch the Jumpers From Cable to Slave in the HardDrive when I placed it in the 3"1/2" External Subsytem (External case)

I already witched connections from Diffrent Firewire outlet @ the back of the Case.

The Drivers for the FireConnect IEEE are supposed to be Built-in the WinME OS and the Driver @ it's website is for DVD media not connection to a External HardDrive.

I can't Use DOS cause it needs windows to Use the PCMCIA Card.

Does anybody Have Experience with this ?

I Built the External Hard Drive By buying the case and HardDrive seperately and assebled it myself. I followed the Maxtor website Manual for the 4G160J8 model and I know I have the connections Plugged in correctly in the Case.

And I checked for static discharge and prevented it.
