What is the best format to scan and output a picture for a high quality picture?
Thanks in advance Bob |

There's a lot of variables here. You need a good printer, a good scan, and some good paper. How your imaging software adjusts the scanned product has a lot to do with output quality. Your best bet is to just experiment and practice to find a good combination that works for you.
A good way to go as far as the scan is concerned if with a "tif" file at about 300 dpi. The higher the dpi, the bigger the file size. Generally, you want to scan at the highest resolution as practical and not just "resample" the image up in a photo editing program like Photoshop, etc. |

If you want it as good as you can get, set
the resolution as high as it goes. My scanner will go up to 1200dpi. Which I have used but it takes a long, long, long time to scan, and the file you end up with will be huge, but when you do this you can zoom in on the image (with photoshop or paint shop pro) like up to 500 to 800% the image doesnt get pixelated. |
