how do you overclock?
ive been wondering for ages how you actually can over clock a computer and what you need to do it and all the things you have to know/worry about when doing it

Increase the FSB speed, increase the voltage and other ways. Do a google search for Overclocking and you will never seee the end to the sites devoted to it.

If you're going to overclock, make sure you have adequate cooling and/or ventilation in the case.

Like morris said the best way to overclock a cpu is to increase the FSB this is usually done on your motherboard with some jumper settings. Look on your motherboard and see if you are able to do this, since it's an Intel motherboard I'm not sure if you will be able to do this.

Most of the new MB's you just go into the bios and up the frequency settings from the defaults untill your sys won't boot, then back it back down a little untill it will boot and remain stable. Sometines to run at higher clock speeds though setting the core voltages a little higher allows the sys to run stable at the higher speeds. I like my newer one now I can set SDRAM to 133 but leave the rest of the sys clocked at default. Most of this used to be jumpers on the MB, but is pretty much all done in BIOS now, although some boards you have both and you can make it only to be set by the jumpers inside so that other people can not arbitrarily go into your bios and mess with that stuff. I keep my BIOS passworded on my machines though, that way I can only blame myself when things are screwed up!

extra cooling isn't hard to come by and most cetainly isn't expesive (my personal advice would be to stay away from water-cooling thoug, i've seen it on a couple of overclocker-sites, but water and electronics don't make good friends.)
as for the manual you might want to chec with the manufaturer of your MB maybee he made it available online or maybee he would be willing to send you one |

The 810e based motherboards were not good overclockers - if they were even capable of doing it at all. What manufacturer model is this board?
