Blue LED's - where to buy in US?
I have searched and searched for a place to buy blue led's online, and i find lots of places, if you live in the UK. I am wanting to change out my LED's on my keyboard to blue, and if all goes well, all of my other LED's in my system. Any help?

allelectronics.com also has them. They are expensive though (blue Leds in general not allelectronics). I don't think you will find them any cheaper than 2.50 a piece. I don't know why the blue Leds are so expensive.

Blue LEDs are expensive because the semiconducting materials necessary to make a blue light are more expensive than those that make green or red lights. That's why you won't find many blue LEDs anywhere.

eek, i was going to get just one, to use as a "guinea pig" to see if i could even do what i'm wanting to do. That way i didn't waste a bunch of money.
Directron was almost 5 dollars for one light, that is to much. Allelectronics was a so so, 2.85 for the light, i can live with that, but 6.00 shipping! That is ridiculous. Surely there is cheaper alternatives than allelectronics, at least on shipping, anyone else know of another supplier in the US? Oz |

Radio Shack has all kinds of LEDs. No shipping charges if you walk in. Be afraid, though, you may have to go "outside."

I just called Radio Shack, they're open late on weekends. So if you go then you can avoid that "sunlight" thing that's been going around lately...
