Overclock Limit Chart

Here is a chart that will tell you how much you can overclock the FSB with the ram you get.

PC-1600 or DDR-200 to FSB overclock to 100mhz
PC-2100 or DDR-266 to FSB overclock to 133mhz
PC-2400 or DDR-300 to FSB overclock to 150mhz
PC-2700 or DDR-333 to FSB overclock to 166mhz
PC-3200 or DDR-400 to FSB overclock to 200mhz

Hi Harry,

Those aren't the overclock speeds, those are the actual speeds. With good RAM, you can overclock DDR266 to DD300 or even DDR333.

I should save that information, I forget those speeds everytime and have to divide and multiply to get them. And, I often forget how to even do that, too.

Anyway, since most processors do not currently run on that high of a bus, is there any *significant* benefit to using the higher end stuff?

And why did they go from PC100 (which I assume to be the bus speed) to PC--00 (I assume the bandwidth) and now DDR--- (again to the bus speed)? Why the confusion?

Respectfully,

Demosthenes
