another lcd monitor question by me

hey...i just finished building my first computer and it worked!!!
i still am waiting on my new LCD monitor but i have a quick question...
i read up on my video card stuff and it said that it supports the crt monitor connector (i think its vga) but only the vio style video card also supports the lcd monitor connector (dvi)...i was wondering if anyone else connected their LCD monitor to their system using the vga connector...and if not..is there an adaptor i can possibly get?
btw...thanks for all the tips and stuff for building my own PC

Hi, rhdb52.
Yes, there are adapters from DVI to VGA.

Many cheap TFTs have VGA only. Only very very very few TFTs have DVI only. Most are hybrid (means they have VGA and DVI).

But if you can connect the TFT to DVI. It will give you a better picture since TFTs work digital (yep, all TFT are digital, no matter what connections they have).

And no, there is no adapter in case you have a TFT with DVI only. The adapters are to connect VGA devices to DVI, not vice versa. Since I've only seen 1 TFT without VGA so far, don't worry, I'm sure your TFT comes with VGA, too. If you want to be sure just tell use what model it is and we'll check.
