CD-Rom Question
When connecting up a CD-Rom to the motherboard do you still have to use the small cable that came with your sound card to conect betweem the CD-Rom and your sound card, or is the signal passed through the ATA cable to the sound card.

Not necessarily - if you are digital audio capable you may not need it. The analog cable you refer to will always work though.

With certin audio playback programs the audio cable is not nessasary as it can play it back digitally. But if you have a low quality audio CD it may have some noise and popping sounds when played back digitally. so the analog audio cable is a good thing to have i find.
