ethernet card
I just recently finished a new build and just added a new ethernet card. After adding a new ethernet card i updated the drivers and everything check the device manager and then i put the dsl software in and doesnt detect the NIC card. i decided to just skip to puttin in the sbc internet services cd in and installed it. When i put in the account we already have, it always says tcp stack not configured something like that any help would be great

What DSL software did you install? You should just need to install TCP/IP protocol, and tell it to use DHCP. No extra software should be needed, regardless of what they give you. Try uninstalling the software, and then configure your internet connection to connect via DSL / LAN and tell it to use DHCP. This should do the trick.

If you use internet explorer, open it up. Click on the Tools menu, and select internet options. Click on the connections tab in the box that opens. Then click "setup" next to where it says internet connection wizard. Hope this helps.

It should. If you haven't installed any network options, windows should prompt you to install TCP/IP and it will install it off of the windows disk. It could be that it wasn't installed when you set up the new hard drive. Go to your control panel, and open the network settings. Look under the protocol tab, and see if TCP/IP was installed. If not, select add, and install TCP/IP.

PPPoE ADSL requires one of the following:
Enternet 300 or WinPoet software RASPPPoE Windows XP built-in PPPoE support The SBC software is Enternet 300, and it also has the drivers for the D-Link NIC that comes in the self-install kit. I've found it's best to start from scratch using the software (unless you have XP, then do NOT use it) and installing the NIC when prompted. Once it's up and running, then you can uninstall the software and replace it with RASPPPoE or a router if you wish. What OS and NIC do you have? |

I don't use SBC Enternet 300 it drives me nuts. A decent router will keep your connection on and provide you with some protection in the form of a firewall.
