is it possible to burn out cpu fan

Is it possible to burn out a cpu fan, by giving it too much power. My parents have a toshiba desktop, with a 400 mhz celeron. Anyway Im building my own computer for when I go to college next year, and I got a case and a 400 watt powersupply a couple weeks ago. I just couldnt stand to have my case sitting around doing nothing so I put my parents computer into my new case. Anyway my problem is this. With the new 400 watt powersupply my cpu fan runs a lot faster, and louder than it did with my other power supply. What I was wondering is would it be possible to give too much power to the cpu fan and burn it out.

If the fans are plugged into the motherboard, then they aren't getting any more power than usual. The acoustics of the case could be such that they seem to be louder. The way the fans are wired will determine how much power they get. They will either take 5 or 12v of power. Yes a fan could wear out, but I doubt that they are running any faster. The only way this would be possible is if you dusted them out, and they are less sticky inside then they used to be. I would say, if it is running, don't worry about it.

I swear its louder now even If I take the side panel off and put my ear up to the fan. It could be though because I did clean the heatsink and fan. I took the hsf off and there where big globs of dust in the fins

That would definately allow the fan to spin faster.
