Case + AMD fan question

First, I have this case: http://www.coolerguys.com/Merchant2/...y_Code=CS-Wind
love the case, but it came with no documentation. I can't figure out how to use the drivebays with the included rails. My CDROM drive keeps falling. Secondly, it says there's room for 5 fans, but I can only find space for 3. Coolerguy's website says it Chemnig case, but I think it's actually an Antec case customized by Chieftec. Anybody have any experience with this case that could point out what I'm missing?

Secondly, I have 3 80mm fans(with 2 more to install when I can find the room). I bought great fans that move a ton of air and are very quiet, however the CPU fan is a different story. I have an AMD athalon XP 1900 processor retail with the packaged heatsink/fan combo. The fan is super loud. Anybody have any experience on how to make the CPU fan quieter? I've got an ABIT KR7A-RAID motherboard with the heat sensor/fan control on it, but the CPU fan seems to run constantly. TIA.

Follow the instructions in the link provided by WJWheels. The rails are located on the bottom of the case and you have to screw them to the CD-ROM, DVD or CD-RW in order to mount them in the drive bays.

That particular case has room for 4 80mm fans...2 on the back panel (the purple fan holders), 1 on the lower front (another purple fan holder) and 1 in the lower drive cage (take the cage out and you'll see another purple fan holder inside the cage).

Chenming and Chieftec are the actual case manufacturers...Antec just orders the cases from Chenming or Chieftec and has them built to their specifications. The Chenming and Cheiftec cases are slightly different from the Antec design...less nice features.

The AMD retail heatsink fans are actually pretty quiet running compared to other HSF's that use the Delta 38. The only way to reduce the HSF noise is to replace it with something like the Thermalright AX-7, the Thermaltake Volcano 7 or 9, or with something from Zalman.

The CPU heatsink fan has to run constantly or the CPU will overheat. The motherboard heat sensor/fan control is there to only monitor the heat from the CPU and fan RPM. If the fan RPM's drop below a certain point, the "fan control" is designed to initiate a system shutdown so that the CPU won't overheat and get damaged. It's not for controlling the RPM of the fan to control noise.

You might try what I did for the noise on my XP 1800. I removed the 60mm fan and replaced it with an Akasa 60 to 80 mm adaptor and a Vantec Stealth fan. Probably not quite enough air flow for a 1900, but you can find something that is quieter than the 60. The instructions included with the Akasa adaptor are not very good. The stock heat sink on my 1800 has two smooth sides and two sides that are the edges of the fins. The Akasa straight sides should go on the smooth sides of the heat sink, not the fin edges. The adaptor angle sides would then be over the edges of the fins. Got about 4 deg C less on the cpu this way. My cpu loaded with Sandra BurnIn is about 46 deg C with only 27 cfm from the Stealth. Loudest thing now is the psu.
