Uh oh...lightning strike question

Yep got zapped. Now I get a "keyboard not present or keyboard error" reading at startup and it stops right there.

So what did it knock out? It's an ancient Pentium 166 I use for surfing. I'm now using my Mac. (

it could've fried your ps/2 controller... are you sure the keyboard isn't just unplugged, though? try wiggling the connection.

Is the PS2 controller actually a card? may have one on another old computer.

Nope... it took down your board, possibly other components.

interesting timing.....I just received a new Pentium 2.26 ghz CPU from Newegg today. I'm waiting for the Asus P4S 8x motherboard to be available (hopefully this month) to do a new build.

very strange timing indeed...........

thanks guys.

christ......You're right.......I feel like such an insensitive clod. LOL

That old Pentium has literally been running almost 24/7 for for 7 years....I hardly ever turned it off.

Your keyboard bios is fried - which means you can use the motherboard for target practice, unfortunately.
