ROM Bios Checksum error

Upon starting up my friend's computer, I am getting and error message that reads "ROM Bios Checksum Error." What does this mean, and more importantly how do I fix this? Thanks a lot!

have you changed anything lately inside? if so any promblems while installing them. .

try to clear the cmos , by switching the jumper pins next to the battery to 2-3 or just the opposite of what it is on now. dont forget to unplug the power cord

do this for about 5 minutes and the hook everything back up ,change the jumpers back also.

the just restart and reset your bios and see if that fixes it>>

If clearing the CMOS does not solve this, then the CMOS battery is most likely dead

Can also be caused by a corrupt or incorrect BIOS flash.
