Heatsinks

Hi, i am planning on building a XP2200+ system, i want a HSF which will cool the system alot!

I want the coolest possible temps for a heatsink, i will be having case fans and blow holes too, so the case will be cool also, but i want a good heatsink.

Please recormend! I would like a site showing comparisons if u know any!

The Alpha PAl8045 is a great heatsink. The fans they have as options at th above link are good choices. The last of the three is quite loud, though.

Also, the Thermalright SLK heatsinks are great, but they are quite pricey. They will do the job very well, though.

I'm using the Thermaltek AX7 now but if you want max cooling try the MC462 series that you can find from coolerguys www.coolerguys.com the only prob your'e going to have is NOISE. Because I ran that baby along with seven other fans and it's LOUD!

The Thermalright AX-7 would be a good choice.

With all those fans in there I hope you realize your computer is going to be very noisy.

Actually, water cooling would provide much more cooling for your CPU than a normal heatsink, but there are lots of risks involved (water and electricity don't mix too well). Cost can be pretty high too.

One thing about the Alpha PAL8045 is it doesn't fit on all motherboards. Go here, there's a link to a motherboard compatibility list.

But why are you building a 2200 now... why not a 2400 ?

I know someone from another Forum has his system at -22 with Nitrogen Compressed cooling or somesort .

AX7 hands down best heatsink for the money, but unless you plan on overclocking its alittle bit overkill
