Intel mobos and OCing

Are the Intel mobos good for overclocking? Or should I get another one from MSI? **shudders at the thought**

The mobo I got for replacement is also crashing in 3D apps. So, this is an RMA or these MSI k7t266 Pro2 mobos are just plain flaky for 3D games.

Thanx in advance for your input.

Hi NK,

Intel mobos have no overlocking options, so you won't be able to overclock with them. If you want a good OC board look at ones from Asus or Abit.

The ASUS P4S533 is an awesome overclocker at a great price, why look anywhere else.

It packs a SiS chipset, doesn't it?

Yes, but it's just as good as the Intel equivalent in my opinion.

Yep - and the SiS chipsets for the P4 seem to be just as good as the Intel chipsets. Sis actually bothered getting a license from Intel.

I seem to remember you saying that you can get AOpen there - well, check these out - http://www.aopen.com/products/mb/DDRSK478.htm

Looks like they have a full selection of 400 and 533 FSB boards with both Intel and SiS chipsets, and most of them are overclockable. Make sure you check the CPU compatibility chart.

Great! I'll check if I can get one of those from my dealers here. Checked today with one of them but the only one they carry is the MX46 an all-in-one mobo.
