changing motherboard etc etc
Ok, I am about to change my motherboard graphics card, soundcard, memory, and cpu.
It is a Chaintech Apogee CT-7VJL motherboard, I am replacing my Geforce 2 mx400 graphics card with a Saphire Radeon 9700Pro. Removing my old Soundblaster Live! card and replacing it with the onboard sound. Changing from SD-Ram to 512megs of DDR 2100 ram. Going from an Athlon 1.2ghz to an AthlonXP1900+. What I want to know before I start jumping inside is which drivers I should remove and in what order. I am using Windows ME. I have done similar before but I always tend to forget the process of removing Graphics card drivers and soundcard drivers. What would you advise? (apart from not using a Chaintech board hehe). I don't really want to do a fresh install until I can afford to get Windows XP. |

Excellent, thanks very much.
I won't be able to do all this until later today but that should cut some time down. All the best. |

I would change the video settings to 640 X 480 before attempting to take out the video card. Sometimes they want you to uninstall the old drivers and install the new drivers before you actually take the old video card out. That way when you reboot the computer with the new video card it will be recognized.
