Unhappy ADSL Modem Final Problem!! Please Read!!

OK my adsl modem is up and running BUT whenever I am downloading for more than 3 or 4 minutes the computer freezes up. Its fine when I'm surfing the net (like now) and when I'm offline but as soon as I d/l its nightmare time!

I've got a USB Adsl modem made by ETech with a conexant chipset and cant find any updated drivers to see if this is the problem.

Please Please help me out here, one of the main reason I got adsl was to help with d/l and I cant do it without causing the pc to freeze!

Athlon 1.4gig
Gigabyte 7dxr mobo

Try using software like download excellerator also, it allows for resumable downloads so in case your doing some downloading while troubleshooting you won't lose any info.

The file sharing programs you have are full of spyware. uninstall them and clean up your computer with a program like Spybot Search & destroy http://security.kolla.de/ and then see if you are having any problems, before trying other fixes. I hear that Kaza lite is ok.
