cd rom drive

how can i fix a cdrom drive that wont eject?
when i pess eject it just makes a Noise and stops

I sounds like the gears are messed up so that the laser tray is raised and it is holding in the CD tray. What you could do is open it up and re-adjust the gears, but I wouldn't advise it unless you know what you're doing.

You could get a new Lite-On 52X for about $17.

it's a dvd rom get it fix or buy new one

Hi eric4179,

The repair cost will probably be more than the cost of a new DVD drive. You can get a nice DVD drive for around $43 from Newegg.com.

Use a paper clip and stick it in through the small tiny orifice infront of the CD-ROM tray of your computer and on pressing this the Cd will eject. Once it ejects. you close the door again and press 'EJECT" button. If it doesn't eject, then follow the instruction provided by Cricket. Force_Flow2002 previously.
