I am able to connect to my account, but then it will not connect to anything else, it seems like the modem just doesn't respond. I use Outlook 98, Outlook Express, AOL Instant Msg and Internet Explorer 5.5. When I try to send and receive email, nothing happens with the modem (no activity) and then it says cannot connect with POP server. Internet Explorer nothing. Help me please!!

check proxy settings. If that is ok, try to lower the speed of the modem. When that works, you have a bad phone line
