HP laserjet 4 mplus

when i tell the printer to print it keeps saying 'PC load Paper' which means i have to load the paper from the front for it to work, but i want it to take it form the tray, the website told me to press the 'shift' and ' continue' buttons to make it work which is does but i dont want to have to do this every time, what do i have to do to set it up to print from the tray, the website are no help! thanks! matt.

Go to this site: http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/
and look through the HP error codes under "Troubleshooting". If you don't find the answer there, post the problem in their forum and you should get the info you need.

Check the front panel menus for tray priorities - I used to set it to MP first, and if the tray was closed it would feed from the cassette, but if the tray is open it will want to be loaded.
