PCI vid card for dual monitors
I want to get a pci vid card (agp port is filled) to have a dual monitor setup. Some cheap cards at local retail stores are predator 16/32MB.
This card will mainly be use for internet, word processing, and programming, so now fancy stuff really. One question is how compatibly it has to be w/ my existing card, an nvidia riva tnt2 m64 by pine, as I have heard that there are sometimes issues w/ "incompatible" graphics cards. So what is a decent cheap pci card, and does it really need to be "compatible"? Thx. |

Hi mattg2k4,
I suggest you replace the TNT2 card altogether with an ATI Radeon 7500 which has dual monitor output, is perfect for the tasks your describe and is much better at 2D and 3D image quality than the TNT2. It's around $57 @ NewEgg and MWave. Last edited by DrZaius; 10-08-2002 at 09:15 PM. |

Sounds like a deal.
Are there any cards other than the matrox parhelia (is it even out yet?) that have three outputs in a decent price range, just out of curiosity? |

Sorry, I made a typo in the last post, I meant to say "Radeon 7500" not "Radeon 7400" (which doesn't exist). As for 3-output video cards, I don't know of any other than the Matrox cards like you said.
