video card AGP or PCI
I hace a Dell P3 450 mhz. My order receipt says it has an AGP nvidia video card. The card in the computer has one gap in the keys that go into the slots.1111111gap11111111111111111. It is like that. I bought a new ATI Radeon CARD AGP. It's slot's are like this 1111111gap111111111gap1111111. Is my old card a PCI card?
Thanks |

Your old card is a 2x AGP card and the new one is a 4X AGP card.

The ATI Radeon cards are Universal keyed and can work at 3.3V and 1.5V; therefore, in theory, it should fit and work in your AGP
slot. Try it and see. HTH |

Try taking the card out and reseating it a few times. AGP cards need quite a bit of firm but gentle pressure to get them seated properly. Usually you hear a click or clunk when it is fully seated.
We've seen people trying it half-a-dozen times before they got it right. Make sure the back of the card is not rising out of the slot when you screw the card to the back of the case. Try the card without screwing it down and see if that helps. |
