Burned by CD burner

A friend recently gave me his older CD burner. We installed it, the installation was a snap, and everything seemed fine. I burned 2 CD's of photographs, and burned my writing work on to a CD with no probs. I burned one music CD....and it went fine. But strangely now, for some reason, everytime I burn a music CD I end up with only white noise. Out of 3 music CD's that I tried to burn....2 were completely white noise.... then on the 3rd CD, the 1st song was white noise, and the rest of the songs worked..... Any ideas why this would happen??

Should add the specs:
- Hewlet Packard CD-writer Plus
- Mitsumi CR-4804TE (4X4X24)
- Roxio burner program

TIA, Kassia

If they are CD's that were recently released they may have copy protection which will do what you described.

Nope, not copying CD to CD. Burning music in mp3 format to CD.

You could also try using Nero instead of Roxio.

I second that; I've been reading poor reviews regarding Roxio.

I agree Nero is the best that money can buy. I refuse to use anything less.

Lady Kass,
White noise is actually one of the best ways to sleep uninterrupted. It absorbs extraneous noises, sort of dampens them. The particular kind you're hearing may also be coincidently similar to the sound of blood rushing through arteries which we as unborn infants hear in our mommies' wombs, just add a heartbeat to it and you'll be falling asleep at your keyboard.
There's some Tim Trivia.
