Acceptable Temps?
Hello all,
I just want to see if my temps are good(it's my first build, so I gotta know!). I have two 80mm case fans, one in and one out, and a Thermaltake Volcano7 HSF w/ Arctic Silver. I idle at(these are all CPU temps. My system stays around 77F) between 98F/37C to 102F/38C, but never above 102F. I ran the two SiSoft SANDRA CPU benchmarks simultaneously for 15 minutes straight(I wanted to do it longer, but I had to do something else)with my CPU usage staying at 100%, and I checked the temps right after that. They were 107F/42C. Is that good? I messed around on it after that, played a little Quake3A, and various things. The system was on for about two hours, and the temp never went above 107F/42C that I could see. Yesterday, I ran all the SiSofttemp was SANDRA Burn-in modules for an hour, and the CPU 104F. So, how're those temps? Acceptable? Thanks a lot!

They look good. The one I built idles around 40°C and under load goes up to about 47°C.

I have a AMD Duron 850 with a generic heatsink and 2 80mm crystal led fans on the side as intake and I stay about 120f with them on low. If I put those on high and another one in as exhaust my temp goes to about 116 (buts its loud as crazy) so those sound pretty good to me

OK, I ran the SiSoft SANDRA CPU benchmarks for an hour(that's at 100% processor usage), and the temp maxed at 107F. I stopped the benchmarks, and it dropped to 105F, then I started them again, and it got up to 107F, and didn't go any higher. I guess that's the max under load.

Hi Alienware_Dude,
Yep, looks like that's max CPU temp for your setup. If you aren't experiencing any heat related problems (lockups, freezes), I would stop worrying about it and just enjoy the new computer. Cricket

Yep, will do! Forgive my 'newbie-ness', I just want to make sure that the temps were good, because the system isn't for me. I built it for my Mom/brothers. I thought I would screw something up for sure, but now that I didn't, I want to keep it! Oh well, I'm building a system for myself around Christmas *sigh*. My Alienware is too expensive/not obselete for me to get a new system.
