I am going to use 3D studio Max R3 and a 17" monitor. Which is the best card to buy and what is the rate and colour to set if I am in 1024 by 768. Thanks

First of all, how much do you want to spend....and how much CAN you spend? NT/2K or 9x/ME? The 3D Studio Max support site has a list of tested/certified video cards along with benchmarks.
