i was just wondering, since im no expert on neon or flourecent cold cathode lights, does it hurt them to run them on a lower voltage? i have my cold cathode hooked up to my baybus which has dual voltage and i sometimes would like to turn it to the lower of the 2 volts, but i dont want to damage anything...does anyone know?

I don't believe so.
Can't you just add a switch to turn it on and off though? |

It may not even light the whole tube on 2v. I think that most cathodes are 5V or 12V, and when they are lacking the power, only the ends of the tube actually light up. And even then, its fairly dim.

yea, only the ends light up, but it has adjustable power on the low voltage setting, so its kinda like a dimmer switch, i was just wondering if this hurt the light
