Webcam's anyone?

I have been looking at webcams. I have never really wanted a webcam in all the years i have been online (about 7) until now, when I found out my relatives that live about 400 miles away have one. I was wondering what webcams would be good quality to get. Price really doesn't matter. Just not overly priced. I was looking at either the Logitech Quickcam Pro 3000 or the Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000. I don't know if all webcams are like this but I like the monitoring capabilities. Considering the stuff in my house is worth more than my car, :P. Any help would be appreciated, thanx.

USR/3com make probably the best. Logitech would be my second choice (I have one of each).
If you're going the Logitech route, they offer the "Quickcam Express", which is a digital cam (not great quality, but a "snapshot" sort of cam), that does triple duty as a webcam and video cam (when connected to the PC).
The 3com PC Homeconnect series ("light" would work nicely) is a fairly high quality webcam only, that has many features that other, cheaper one's don't.
Both are USB, and setup is a breeze.

hi ozz,

i have both the logitech quickcam pro 3000, and the logitech clicksmart 510 webcams. they're are both pretty good. the color spectrum and clarity of the clicksmart is better than the quickcam pro. the clicksmart can be removed from its pod and used as a digital camera as well. it's not the greatest in that department, for it only has 1.3 megapixels. but for the money, it's pretty good. the clicksmart also has a $20 US rebate right now, which is good until the end of december. i picked up the clicksmart, (with the rebate), for $170.00 CDN. good luck with your webcam hunt.
